No.1 Lounge is a UK airport lounge brand with locations in several UK airports, including Heathrow and Gatwick. I previously visited the one in Heathrow’s Terminal 3 (also great, but this one was superior), which you can read about here. This review discusses the new No.1 Lounge in Heathrow’s Terminal 2, or “The Queen’s Terminal.”
NO.1 LOUNGE LOCATION IN TERMINAL 2
The No.1 Lounge in Terminal 2 is located post-security near Gate A2. To access the lounge, turn right after security and take the elevator or escalator down 1 level. Once on the lower level, turn right behind the Louis Vuitton cafe (which looked so nice) and you’ll find another elevator (with a sign) to take you to the lounge. Honestly, locating the No. 1 Lounge was not the easiest, which was made more difficult by the fact that it is a new lounge and there are few signs for it. We finally found a sign at the elevator leading to the lounge. It was worth the search.

Finally found the elevator to the No.1 Lounge!
CHECK-IN TO THE NO.1 LOUNGE IN TERMINAL 2
We checked in to the No.1 Lounge by presenting our Priority Pass card and boarding passes to the check-in desk, which is are is where guests exit the elevator from the general terminal. There were no issues checking in with Priority Pass (as there often are), but it was not a particularly crowded flying day IMO.
While we used our Priority Pass to access the No. 1 Lounge, anyone can go on the lounge’s website and purchase a 3 hour pass for 40 pounds per adult (20 per child). Passes can be booked up to 24 hours in advance, and there is often a discount for booking in advance online. We attempted to book the lounge online, but (1) it was too late (less than 24 hours in advance) and (2) the lounge charged full price to book (the other No.1 permitted a nominal reservation fee for those with Priority Pass). Given how crowded some lounges can get, I suggest making a reservation if you can.
THE NO.1 LOUNGE SPACE IN TERMINAL 2
Compared to the No.1 Lounge in Terminal 3, the No.1 Lounge in Terminal 2 is much smaller, but also much more chic. The vibe of the lounge was old school luxury, with a clean, modern feel, but while also invoking somewhat of an art deco theme. It definitely worked. Think green plants, lots of wood and velvet furniture. Feathery plants were also sprinkled around. I really loved this style.

In any case, as I mentioned, the elevator drops you directly into the lounge at the check-in desk. From the check-in desk, guests enter the lounge via a small hallway with restroom off the hall. The entrance to the lounge is on the opposite side of the restrooms. The lounge itself is a large rectangular space, that, again, is not too large (MUCH smaller than Terminal 3’s No.1 Lounge). I imagine this lounge gets very crowded during peak flying times.

In terms of space, a classy bar is located in the front of the lounge. Just past the lounge is a small grab-and-go-buffet. This buffet also houses non-alcoholic beverages. Pictures of the bar and the lounge are located below.
The remainder of the lounge is dedicated to guest seating, which is tastefully arranged in a variety of set ups to accommodate various sized parties. There are also some more private areas in the back, as well as two “TV rooms” that hold the only TVs in the lounge.

THE DRINKS AT THE NO.1 LOUNGE
The No.1 Lounge in Terminal 2 had a wide selection of beverages, both alcohol and soft. In terms of alcohol, all alcohol is served by a bartender from the bar located at the entrance to the lounge. On offer were a variety of upscale spirits, red and white wine and a few beers in bottles. There was also champagne for an extra cost – the only supplement in the entire lounge.
We opted for Pink Gin and Tonics, which were served with a large orange slices and were very good. Drinks were unlimited, but there was a UK government warning poster advising against drinking too much before a flight, LOL.

A few non-alcoholic beverages, mostly of the mixer variety, were located behind the bar. The other soft drinks were on the buffet, including fancy infused waters, soda on tap, three espresso machines, a tea bar and, of course, water. We particularly enjoyed the rosemary-infused water.

Lots of espresso machines.
THE FOOD AT THE NO.1 LOUNGE
The No.1 Lounge really shined in its food selection – both healthy and tasty. Indeed, while the self-serve food buffet was small, I was quite pleasantly surprised! On offer during our visit was a clean tomato and cucumber salad, Mediterranean couscous, a very good potato salad, quiche, tomato soup, a selection of hummus with fresh vegetables, olives and some really great wraps. My personal favorite were the wraps, particularly the chicken and bacon caesar wrap. The other two were spicy chicken and vegetarian falafel, and they were all delicious.

The olives were apparently quite good.

A small dessert selection.
Lounge staff continuously refilled the food during our 1 hour visit, and I never saw anything run out. Sample menus for the No.1 Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 2 can be found here if interested for a future visit.
OTHER AMENITIES AT THE NO.1 LOUNGE
Aside from the drinks, the food and the relaxing space, the No.1 Lounge in Terminal 2 lacked many other amenities. The “TV Room” that we set up in offered TV, the wifi was fast and there were many electrical outlets throughout the lounge.
The lounge also has in-house restrooms, which are located in a separate area between the check-in desk and the bar. There are three separate bathroom “rooms” in the lounge, each of which fully closed and locked and offered a toilet and sink, as well as enough space to change clothing and freshen up after a long flight. I did not see any showers in the lounge.

Restroom area. Nicely separated from the rest of the lounge.

Inside of the restroom for anyone interested.
There is also a live departure board in the lounge to keep up with your flight. That being said, the lounge is about a 15 minute walk from the far gates, such as A49 where we took off, so be sure to leave plenty of time to get to your gate.
