Welcome to Wareontheglobe!
Wareontheglobe is a travel blog written by a New York couple, Fleming and Dan, since 2014. What started as Fleming jotting down trip notes for friends and family has become a 600+ post archive of itineraries, restaurant reviews, airport lounge breakdowns, and destination-wedding planning — covering 57+ countries and counting.
What you’ll find here
- Honest, long-form itineraries. When we go to Naxos, we tell you which beaches were worth it and which weren’t. When we eat at a Michelin 1-star, we tell you whether the bill was worth it. We don’t write the “10 things to see in Rome” lists you can find on every other site.
- Restaurant reviews from places we actually ate. With photos of the food, prices, and the bill.
- Detailed airport lounge breakdowns. Hours, food, drinks, who gets in, what credit card you need, and what we’d rate it.
- Credit-card and hotel-points strategy. That part’s Dan’s department.
Who’s behind it
Fleming is the primary writer. She started Wareontheglobe in November 2014 and has been the voice of the blog ever since. She has a soft spot for Italy, Greece, and any place that takes its carbs seriously. She’ll travel anywhere.
Dan is Fleming’s husband. He’s the wine guy and the credit-card-points geek. Most of the points-and-miles advice on this site is his.
We live in New York and travel as often as Fleming can talk Dan into it, which is frequently.
How we travel
We pay our own way for nearly every trip you read about here. Occasionally a hotel, restaurant, or brand will host us in exchange for coverage. When that happens, we say so plainly at the top of the post. We don’t write reviews of places we haven’t visited, and we don’t accept payment in exchange for a specific opinion. Full disclosure here.
Posting schedule
We aim for at least one new post a week, often more. There’s no fixed day. Subscribe and you’ll get the next one in your inbox.

Hello, we meet your father and mother in law on the way to Hallstatt (we all missed the train 😆) and we had good talking during the waiting time for next train. He showed us the instructions that you prepared for them to travel and he also recommended us your blog. That is really nice 👍🏻.
We managed to take some pictures but we didn’t say goodbye yet. Please help send our regards to them.
Best wishes,
Trio girls from Nepal and Thailand who are classmates in Germany 😊
