Nope, that’s not a Gray Malin picture, that is a photograph of Ericeira, Portugal!! As you may know, Dan and I got married near the famous surfing destination of Ericeira, Portugal last summer! I was originally going to write a post about Ericeira in the Summer as a follow up to Ericeira in November, but Ericeira is really just a small Portuguese beach town that acts as a beach getaway for Lisboetas and serious surfers. Ericeira is also beautiful, so here are some of my favorite pictures from Ericeira!

The colorful flowers in Ericeira are unreal and everywhere!

Blue & white tiles everywhere.

Around a random corner…

The beach.

The best looking beach dog!

I do love a European beach sign…

Hotel Vila Gale Ericeira.

The doors are all pretty!

Travessa do Estrela.

Ericeira decorated for the Summer.

Praia.

Future home?

Charming little alley.

Praia do Sol.

Another pretty doorway.

Gorgeous tiled interior of a church.

More tiles.

Another church decorated for the end of Summer festival.

Perfection.

Atlantic.

1957 or 2017?

Hotel Vila Gale Ericeira.

Swoon.

Take me back!

The Atlantic.
STEAL OUR TRIP
These are my favorite spots in and around Ericeira:
Hotel Vila Galé Ericeira: Largo dos Navegantes, 2655-320 Ericeira. T. +351 261 869 900. Reservations can be made online. Pay attention as to what type of board (if any) you purchase. You can buy breakfast, breakfast and dinner, or breakfast, lunch, and dinner!Read my review on Hotel Vila Gale here!
FUNKY Restaurante & Bar: R. Dr. Miguel Bombarda 12A, 2655-308 Ericeira, Portugal. T: +351 261 862 148. Reservations can and should be made online (especially in Summer) via The Fork. Casual dress but no bathing suits!
Mar Das Latas: R. Cap. João Lopes 24A, 2655-295 Ericeira, Portugal. Closed Wednesday, open other days 16h – 21h, until 22h on Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is tiny and if you have a large group, you may have a difficult time finding a table. We Facebooked messaged the restaurant in advance for a reservation. Mar das Latas was quite responsive, but they asked us to remind them of our reservation closer to the date.
Sunset Bamboo Bar: Travessa do Jorgo da Bola, 3, 2655-297, Ericeira, Portugal. T: +351 261 864 827. Much more casual and really more of a bar than FUNKY Restaurante & Bar. Reservations not required. No dress code. Outdoor seating optional.
Cervejaria 7 Janelas: R. 5 de Outubro 11A, 2655-228 Ericeira, Portugal. Open daily 12h – 22h closed Wednesday. Casual; reservations not required.
Quinta do Arneiro: R. da, 2665-001 Azueira, Portugal. Casual. Family style-seating and service, with a focus on vegetarian farm to table food (but they always have some meat dishes). Dan & I had our rehearsal dinner here and it was amazing (and Dan generally “hates” vegetarian/vegan places!).
Quinta de Sant’Ana: R. Direita 3, 2665-113 Gradil, Portugal. T: +351 261 963 550. Where Dan & I got married! Contact the Quinta via the website to schedule a visit and tasting.
ON A BUDGET
Ericeira is a fabulous budget destination. Food, hosing, drinks, and souvenirs are quite inexpensive. Definitely skip the famous European riverias if you are on a budget and visit some of Portugals small Atlantic towns. You will not regret it!
Lovely photos and town! Looks like the perfect place to have a wedding and/or visit! We’ve only been to Lisbon and Cascais and loved both places. If only Europe was easier for us to get to…
Thanks! Its such a lovely town. And, we always say that about Asia and Hawaii! If only they were easier for us to get to… Or we had more vacation time… = )
