Bonus Lounge Review: The Chase Lounge US Open Tennis Tournament (New York)!

After visiting the American Express Centurion Suite at the US Open tennis tournament in Queens, New York on Monday night, I learned that there is also a Chase lounge, called The Chase Lounge, that I could visit. Loving a good lounge experience, I gave it a go and while not as luxe as the Centurion Suite, it was a nice experience and a welcome break from the heat and crowds.

THE LOCATION AND OPEN HOURS

The Chase Lounge at the US Open is located on the second floor of the Chase Center, close to the grounds’ entrance on the right just after you walk in. To access the Chase Lounge, you simply need a ticket to the US Open grounds. Since the Chase Lounge is not in a stadium, there is no live viewing of the matches from the Chase Lounge, but many screens play the matches at all times. The Chase Lounge is open August 29 – September 7, with the Chase Lounge closing promptly at 8:30 PM.

GETTING INTO THE CHASE LOUNGE AT THE US OPEN

The Chase Lounge at the US Open is accessible to all Chase customers.  Reservations can be made here, with up to four reservations allowed per customer for up to 4 people total.  However, there is also a walk-up wait list that you get on by scanning a QR code and inserting some information from your Chase card. I did this on Monday night around 7:45 PM and got myself and a guest in almost immediately.

Whether you have a reservation or get in via the waitlist, check-in is done at a booth outside the Chase Center and then you are let inside. The Chase Lounge is on the second floor of the Chase Center and is accessible via stairs or elevators. Open beverages are not allowed inside (but they graciously made an exception for my Honey Deuce!). Since I got in very close to the closure of the Chase Lounge, I am not sure if visits are time capped. I did receive a bring pink bracelet that apparently would permit me to re-enter (had the Chase Lounge been open later!).

THE CHASE LOUNGE AT THE US OPEN

The Chase Lounge is an open area filled with tables and chairs and wavy navy couches with AC blasting. TVs are everywhere playing the matches. We set up at a two person bar-top table overlooking the crowds below. I would note that we saw a lot of families with children in this lounge, much more so than in the American Express Centurion Suite.

Cool light fixtures!

THE FOOD AND DRINK AT THE CHASE LOUNGE

“Elevated” light bites are complimentary in the Chase Lounge, as is complimentary water and soft drinks. A small bar with alcohol drinks is also available for a charge. That being said, apparently frozen margaritas were given away during the evening session to all lounge guests. We missed both the food and free margs. We did have a glass of Prosecco that was good!

OTHER AMENITIES IN THE CHASE LOUNGE

In addition to food, drink, and a respite from the crowds at the US Open, the lounge offers a few more perks for lucky guests. First, the Chase Lounge at the US Open has decent restrooms, which occasionally have a line. Second, and super fun, all Chase Lounge guests received a complimentary gift – a very cool blue Chase cap branded with the 2022 US Open logo! A great and useful giveaway! There are also complimentary food and beverage vouchers for the first 100 people to register for each session at the Chase Lounge, so worth registering early! Finally, Chase lets all Chase customers borrow phone chargers during the US Open. Again, a useful benefit.

Cute cap!
