San Juan Puerto Rico’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport is home to one of my least favorite airport lounges – The Lounge San Juan Terminal C. That being said, the staff is always nice and they drinks freely flow, so Dan and I usually stop in since we have complimentary access through our Priority Pass (along with everyone else, LOL). This post reviews The Lounge at San Juan’s airport, Terminal C (there is also a Lounge location in Terminal A, but I have never visited it).

Welcome to The Lounge.
THE LOUNGE LOCATION IN TERMINAL C
The Lounge is technically located in Terminal C of San Juan’s international airport, just past security, through the duty free shop to the left. While technically in Terminal C, Terminal B is a very short walk away (literally if you went right out of the duty free instead of left). As such, Terminal B passengers can easily access The Lounge without disrupting plans. The signage for The Lounge is truly right after duty free before you really get into Terminal C. Passengers access the lounge via the elevator behind the below sign. A checkin desk is right at the exit of the elevator. A line can form upstairs when busy.

THE LOUNGE SPACE
The Lounge in Terminal C is rather small. From the checkin area, a short hallway leads guests to the heart of the lounge, which is a cafe area with cafe seating in front of the lounge’s bar. Behind the cafe on either side is more seating, both areas with large screen TVs on my last visit. The chairs in The Lounge are generally very dated and run down, but they do the trick for airport waiting.

Behind the bar area are restrooms, a small children’s play area, a relaxation room and a very dated work area. While at times the lounge has not been crowded, I have also seen this lounge jam packed with people (especially on US long holiday weekends).

THE DRINKS AT THE LOUNGE
The drinks are where The Lounge shines IMO, and that is only because the drinks are complimentary. In terms of alcohol, the lounge offers Puerto Rican Medalla beer, Sycamore Lane wine (ick) and basic mixed drinks, such as Puerto Rican rum and coke or vodka soda. There is no limit on the drinks and the mixed drinks are rather strong, especially if one tips.

Aside from alcohol, there is a self-service espresso machine, as well as bottled water, soft drinks, and juices. All drinks, except espresso, are served at the bar. There is occasionally a line for drinks but it moves fast in our experience.
THE FOOD AT THE LOUNGE
The food at The Lounge is pretty blah in my opinion. The Lounge offers a daily hot plate of food as well as a salad, a basic side (like rice) and a dessert at the bar. There is a cellophane covered dish on the bar showing the daily offerings, and guests order from the bar. It comes out quick. All the food is complimentary.

The desserts are generally tasty IMO.
Aside from this hot food, there is occasionally a small salad bar and/or a hot soup that is self-service. There are also usually self-serve nuts available.

Honestly, IMO, Terminal B has better food offerings (including an Air Margaritaville (currently closed), an Italian wine bar serving food and a Domino’s, among others), so I will often grab food there if hungry.
OTHER AMENITIES AT THE LOUNGE
This lounge is pretty sparse on amenities, likely due to its small size. This past visit, The Lounge was playing a Harry Potter movie on a large screen TV in one room. There is also a “lounge” area featuring bed-like chairs, as well as the children’s play area (pictured above). Most times I have visited, both of these areas have been packed with regular travelers looking for a place to sit.

There is no shower in The Lounge, but there are restrooms that have been relatively clean every time I have visited.
