Eating, Sightseeing, And More Eating In Shinjuku, Tokyo!

Dan and I first visited Tokyo for my 30th birthday back in 2014, and we totally loved it. It turned out to be one of our favorite trips! So, when we vacationed to Korea over Thanksgiving last year, we decided to add on a long weekend in Tokyo, basically to eat!!

Airport Lounge Review: Asiana Business Lounge, Incheon, South Korea

Dan & I flew from Seoul, South Korea to Tokyo, Japan last December on Asiana Airlines, our first flight on this carrier. Since we flew on Asiana Airlines, our Priority Pass permitted us entry into the Asiana Business Lounge, which was super nice and an unexpected treat before our flight. Note that we visited pre-COVID-19, and I am not certain of the Asiana Lounge’s current operations.

Hotel Lounge Review: Executive Lounge, Hilton, Malta.

Last 4th of July was quite different than this 4th of July – we were hanging out in massive crowds during the high season in Malta, not worried about any strange viruses at all. My, how times have changed! In any case, Dan and I found our selves in Malta last July 4th for a week long vacation! It was fabulous; I really loved Malta! My only complaint is Malta is a burden to reach from the US, as you have to transit through another European hub (London Heathrow for us). We split our time on Malta between the Intercontinental in St. Julians and the Hilton Malta, also in St. Julians. We liked the Hilton better, but both hotels are good options, and the rooftop hotel at the Intercontinental is particularly nice.

But I digress, the purpose of this article is to discuss the Hilton Malta Lounge! While staying at the Hilton Malta, we received access to the Executive Lounge by virtue of our Diamond Status, which also gave us a few other perks, such as a welcome glass of sparkling wine and our own special check-in desk. Pizzicletta, Flagstaff, AZ: One Of My Favorite Casual Restaurants Ever.

Do you ever stumble upon a restaurant randomly and its surprisingly the best thing ever? Well that exact thing happened to me and Dan when we were in Arizona earlier this year. We found ourselves in Phoenix, Arizona for our friend’s wedding and decided to spend one night in Flagstaff for a quick visit to the Grand Canyon. Arriving in Flagstaff in the evening, we were pretty tired and totally without dinner plans (super odd for me not to pick a dinner spot in advance), we almost ordered room service and called it a night. But, I happened to look on Trip Advisor and found a good looking pizza restaurant that seemed to have a legit wine list only a 10 minute drive away. Perfect. Done.

Restaurant Review: Peperoncino, St. Julians, Malta

Dan & my Maltese vacation last summer began with a dinner a Restaurante Peperoncino in St. Julians, Malta, after a very long night of traveling from New Jersey to London, layover, then London to Malta on Malta Air. Since we had had such a day, I booked us an early dinner at Restaurante Peperoncino, which was about a 10 minute walk from our hotel and receives good reviews online.  We arrived right on time, and I think we were the first people there! Like most of Southern Europe, the Maltese eat late! The owner greeted us and he remembered me from making my reservation! He sat us at the cutest table outside!
